What ?
Capitalizing on Uncertainty — Structures, Processes, Mindsets is a 6-day summer school for EPFL & ETHZ PhD and Master students, exploring how uncertainty can be engaged as a productive resource in design and fabrication.
The program combines lectures, hands-on experiments, and full-scale human–robot fabrication.
Participants collaboratively design and build a 1:1 timber structure from irregular material stock, engaging directly with material variability, adaptive decision-making, and collaborative processes.
The summer school brings together perspectives from architecture, robotics, and work psychology to examine how uncertainty shapes design, fabrication, and teamwork
