OST – Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences is a Swiss university of applied sciences with a strong focus on practical education, applied research and close collaboration with industry. One of its key technology areas is automation, robotics, mechatronics and autonomous systems, particularly at its Rapperswil-Jona campus.

A particularly relevant unit is the ILT – Institute for Lab Automation and Mechatronics (ILT – Institute for Lab Automation and Mechatronics). The ILT focuses on application-oriented research and development in mechatronics and works closely with industrial companies to transfer research results into practical products and production systems.

At BlueBotics we help companies meet the challenge of vehicle automation.

BlueBotics is a Swiss robotics and automation technology company founded in 2001 as an EPFL spin-off. The company specializes in autonomous navigation technology for industrial vehicles, particularly automated guided vehicles (AGVs), automated forklifts and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). Today, BlueBotics is part of the ZAPI GROUP.

Its core technology is called ANT — Autonomous Navigation Technology. ANT allows mobile robots and industrial vehicles to navigate through their environment without requiring traditional infrastructure such as magnetic tape, inductive wires or fixed navigation markers. Instead, it uses natural features in the environment together with sensors such as laser scanners, encoders and IMUs to determine the vehicle’s position and navigate safely.

Absolute Magnetics AG is a Swiss technology company based in Winterthur that develops next-generation magnetic rotary encoders and position-sensing solutions. Founded in 2023, the company focuses on making motion-control systems more accurate, robust, cost-effective, and easier to integrate.

The company has developed a globally patented magnetization technology that enables precise absolute position measurement without calibration. Its technology is designed to remain reliable even when there are mechanical tolerances, varying air gaps, shaft misalignment, temperature changes, or strong magnetic stray fields.

SWISS Foundation for Innovation and Training in Surgery (SFITS)

The SWISS Foundation for Innovation and Training in Surgery (SFITS) is a Swiss non-profit foundation based in the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) complex, in Switzerland.

The SFITS offers a unique 5-star setting that spans over 2’000m2 in a sophisticated and modern infrastructure. It offers the possibility to train / research or test solutions under conditions close to reality, on anatomical, synthetic and organic specimens.

The center is also fitted with an auditorium and a recording studio to offer online and hybrid events, as well as a modern video platform with the ability to livestream sessions across the infrastructure and remotely.
