Regulatory Update: New US FCC Import Restrictions on “Foreign-Produced Advanced Robotic Devices”

euRobotics shared an regulatory update regarding the new US restrictions that may affect European robotics companies, component manufacturers and research spin-offs exporting to the United States.

On 28 July 2026, the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) added Foreign-Produced Advanced Robotic Devices” to its Covered List. The new rules may affect certain mobile robotic platforms, including AMRs, quadruped robots and humanoid robots, when specific technical criteria are met.

European companies and research organisations developing or exporting robotics to the US are encouraged to assess the potential implications for their activities.

euRobotics is currently collecting feedback from the European robotics community to better understand the impact of these measures and support further policy discussions.
