The European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator supports start-ups and SMEs developing breakthrough technologies with the potential to create new markets or disrupt existing ones. The programme targets high-risk, high-impact innovations at Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 6–8 and provides both funding and business support to help companies scale.
Selected companies can receive:
- Grants of up to €2.5 million for innovation activities;
- Equity investments of €1–10 million through the EIC Fund;
- Access to coaching, mentoring, networking, and business acceleration services.
The EIC Accelerator is open to companies from EU Member States and countries associated with Horizon Europe, including Switzerland in certain schemes. Applications follow a three-step process: a short proposal, a full proposal, and an interview with the EIC Jury.
The programme represents one of Europe’s flagship funding instruments for deep-tech companies seeking to accelerate growth and bring transformative technologies to market.
